Where is Taksim? Why is Taksim Square famous?

How to get to Taksim?
Transport to Taksim is simple. IETT buses are one of the most common ways to get to Taksim. For instance, you can get off the 145T, 49T, 129T, 40, 48T busses at the last stop in Taksim or by using the metro, which can be reached by heading to the last station of the Haciosman-Taksim metro in the direction of Taksim. If you want to go to Taksim by Metrobus, you can get off at Mecidiyekoy Metrobus Station, walk to the Taksim or take the metro to Taksim. Or you can reach Taksim by getting off and transferring to the funicular at the Kabatas Station by tram. Besides, the distance between Istanbul Airport and Taksim is 48 km, and the distance between Sabiha Gökçen Airport and Taksim is 44 km. The distance between Esenler Bus Station and Taksim is 15 km.

Things to Do and See in Taksim
The Cumhuriyet Monument, which you can see at the beginning of Taksim Square, brought here from Rome by a monument was built in Italy in 1928 originally. After visiting Istiklal Street, you can visit Galata Tower at the end of the street and have a coffee in the tower with the unique view of Galata Tower. Or, you can sit in a tavern on Nevizade Street and listen to a fasıl and drink Turkish Rakı.
Afterward, you can use the funicular line to get down to Karaköy. With its vibrant life, exceptional seafront restaurants, pastries, street arts, wall graffiti, workshops, and vintage shops, Karaköy, a touristic and lively harbor area at the entrance to the Golden Horn, is a truly unforgettable place.
