Buyukyali is a project that respects history and culture and is consonant with the urban texture of Istanbul. It has an innovative spirit that synthesizes modern lines with traditional architecture.
The Buyukyali project plan was drawn by the British architectural company Chapman Taylor, which has earned more than 200 international awards. Keen on creating projects which add value to life and are respectable to nature, Chapman Taylor offers architectural solutions that reflect the timeless spirit, historical texture, and warm neighborhood life of Istanbul on to Buyukyali. Based on the “New Urbanism” approach which aims at increasing the quality of life, Buyukyali opens the doors of a brand new life blended with green and blue which respects nature, history, and humans.
The Charm of Historic Fabric
Buyukyali Istanbul adopts the philosophy of “respect for history.” The plot from which it rises accommodates a 19th-century building complex: “Fabrika-i Hümâyûn,” namely the Imperial Factory. These buildings, which were closed for use in the past, were arranged as common living areas and made accessible to everyone. These historical buildings date back to 1845 and are located within the Buyukyali project borders. As part of the Buyukyali project, these historical buildings have undergone world-class renovation works and re-functionalized to satisfy the needs of people today. These historical structures had been left to their fate for many years. But now, they are integrated into modern life while retaining their historical traces and fabric.
